Before you arrive

Shela Beach is a short boat taxi ride from Lamu Town, or a 45-minute walk along the waterfront path. Contact us to check conditions and availability. No prior experience needed for lessons.

Do I need prior experience?

No. Our taster course and learn-to-ride package are designed for complete beginners. Fitness helps but is not required.

What's included in the course price?

All equipment — kite, bar, harness, board and wetsuit if needed. Full instruction and safety briefings included in every session.

When is the best time to come?

December–March (NE monsoon) and June–September (SE trade winds). Avoid April–May and November rains.

What if the wind isn't strong enough?

We monitor conditions daily and reschedule at no extra charge if wind is insufficient. Safety is never compromised.

Can I book multiple days in advance?

Yes. We recommend booking ahead during peak season (December–March). WhatsApp us with your travel dates and we'll confirm availability.
